Festival season is finally approaching and it's the perfect time to get creative with your manes. There are many ways to nail this look and hair accessories are a must have essential. What better way to kick it off by sharing with you my ultimate festival looks.
The perfect classic choice never gets old, it just gets bigger and better. A beautifully flowered head band would work perfectly with loose natural waves creating that bohemian feel. Try adding vintage flowers into a textured knot creating a natural earthy look.
Structured braids, boho plaits, fishtail pigtails and tiny cornrows are some of the biggest braid trends coming into the festival season. It works with your hair down or up, wet or dry, sleek or textured and undone or tight. This hair statement will last throughout the festival and help keep any hair off your face. What more could you want? To truly accessorise this festival trend try adding braid rings and charms.
As we all know waves are here to stay. Wanting to create a really natural textured wave with out using curling tong or irons is essential for a festival. Prep your hair either damp or dry with OUAI waves spray or Bumble and Bumble ocean waves. Either create two french braids both sides of your head or one big plait down the middle. The looser the braid the softer the wave. Using an elastic band, tie to secure leaving an inch or two of hair on the ends, that will help achieve a really natural finish. Let it set for a half an hour to achieve an effortless wave .You can even sleep in them! The longer you leave them the more structured the wave.To give you that really matte grunge texture try using a dry shampoo or texture spray, ORIBE AND OUAI do amazing texture sprays and they also come in travel sizes. Wanting you waves to last for days use your GHD IV IRONS or a wand/curling tong and wave your hair a little tighter than normal. Each day the waves will become a lot more relaxed. It will create effortless wave which will take you through any festival. Check out my waves tutorials to help you achieve your mane goals!
Knots have recently turned into the new bun. They can be cute and pretty, structure and slick or even sexy and undone. The classic top knot is perfect for a festival so try adding a bun cuff or retro jellewed hair pins. Double knots are ideal, whether your hair is all up or half up, they give a really fun fill to your manes. Wanting to create something a little more undo and natural? Style your hair into a low knot in the nape of your head. Don't be afraid to pull pieces out and mess it up if you want to create that ultimate boho feel.
Rainbow hair is the perfect statement for any festival. Looking for something pretty and candy like or something bright and bold. This look can be easily achieved for blonde people, using BLEACH LONDON super cool semi permanent hair colour you can create mermaid blues, blush rose, violet skies and many more. This will fade over time depending on the hair's ability to retain moisture. If your hair is darker than blonde, I would advise going into a hair salon and wouldn't recommend bleaching your hair yourself as you don't want to damage your manes! If you are looking for more of a day look, I would suggest adding glitter into your hair a it is a great alternative for adding colours to your manes whilst also giving you that extra sparkle. GO GET GLITTER do an amazing range or colours and pigments. Applying it at the roots are a great cover up for greys as well! Taking it through to mid-length and ends gives you a cool quirky ombre, or adding to a braid or a bun giving you more of a stamement style.
